Google Business Profile optimization that turns map views into phone calls
Your profile is the first thing most local buyers see, and for many it is the only thing. We build it completely, keep it active and make sure every field, photo and review response pushes toward a call.
At a glance
- Who it is for
- Any business whose customers find it on Google Maps or in the map pack
- Time to first signal
- Profile changes show within days; call and direction volume typically shifts over four to eight weeks
- Typical scope
- Full profile buildout, weekly posts and photos, Q&A, review responses, monthly insights report
What does Google Business Profile optimization include?
Google Business Profile optimization means completing and maintaining every part of your profile so Google ranks it for local searches and buyers trust it enough to call. That includes choosing the right primary and secondary categories, listing every service with descriptions, setting accurate hours and service areas, adding real photos regularly, publishing posts, answering the Q&A section, collecting reviews and responding to each one. Done well, the profile becomes a landing page that lives inside Google Maps.
Most profiles we audit are claimed, half-filled and then forgotten. Google treats an active, complete profile as a stronger signal than a stale one, and buyers treat recent photos and answered reviews as proof you are still in business and worth calling.
Who this is for
- Home-service companies that claimed their profile years ago and have not touched it since
- Businesses with good reviews that still lose the map pack to a competitor with a more complete profile
- Owners whose profile shows the wrong category, old hours or a service area that no longer matches the trucks
- Companies that have been suspended or flagged and need the profile rebuilt by the rules
What you get
Named deliverables, so the monthly invoice always maps to work you can see.
Category and service architecture
The primary category that matches how Google classifies your top competitors, secondary categories for each line of work, and every service listed with a plain description.
Complete profile setup
Hours, holiday hours, service areas, attributes, opening date, appointment and booking links, business description, and products where they apply. Nothing left blank.
Photo and video program
A monthly set of real job photos, team and truck photos, and short clips, named and uploaded on a schedule so the profile never looks stale.
Posts and offers
Weekly updates, seasonal offers and project highlights written to the question a buyer is asking that month, with a tracked link back to the right page.
Q&A and review playbook
Seeded answers to the questions buyers actually ask, a review request flow for your team, and response templates for five-star and one-star reviews alike.
Monthly profile report
Calls, direction requests, website clicks, messages and photo views from profile insights, with map pack positions by neighborhood and what we changed.
How the work runs
In order. Each step produces something you can review before the next one starts.
- 1
Profile audit
We compare your profile field by field with the three businesses that outrank you in the map pack, check for duplicates and policy risks, and read every review.
- 2
Buildout
Categories, services, areas, attributes, description and links set in one pass, with the review flow and Q&A seeded so the profile is complete before we start promoting it.
- 3
Photo and post calendar
A twelve-week calendar of photos, posts and offers you can see in advance. Your team sends job photos; we handle the rest.
- 4
Review response rhythm
Every new review answered within a business day in your voice, with escalation to you for anything that needs a real conversation.
- 5
Monthly review and next moves
Insights reviewed, map grid rechecked, categories and services adjusted as Google and your service mix change.
Managing your Google Business Profile yourself versus working with us
Plenty of owners do this well themselves. The difference is consistency and knowing the rules before you trip one.
| Dimension | DIY | White SEO Labs |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Usually the fields you knew about, filled once | Every field, category and service, benchmarked against competitors |
| Activity | Posts and photos when someone remembers | Weekly posts, monthly photo sets, on a calendar you approve |
| Reviews | Responses when there is time; bad ones sit | Every review answered within a business day; policy-breaking ones flagged |
| Policy risk | Easy to trip a suspension with a keyword-stuffed name or the wrong address type | Built by the guidelines, with duplicates and risks cleaned up first |
| Measurement | An occasional look at insights | Monthly report tying profile actions to calls and map positions |
| Best for | Single-location businesses with a staff member who has the time | Owners who want it done consistently without managing it |
How we measure it
- Profile actions from Google insights: calls, direction requests, website clicks and messages
- Map pack position by neighborhood on a geo-grid for your priority searches
- Profile completeness, photo count and post cadence against the competitors who outrank you
- Review count, rating trend and response time
What this cannot do
- Google controls the map pack radius; a profile cannot rank for a city far outside its location and service area
- Service-area businesses must hide their address, which removes some map features
- We cannot write or buy reviews; we build the process and your customers supply them
- Profiles with a history of policy violations can be suspended during cleanup; we flag that risk before touching anything
Google Business Profile Optimization questions, answered
Direct answers first. If your question is not here, ask it on the call.
Is Google Business Profile free?
Yes. Google does not charge to create or manage a profile, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something else. Our fee covers the work of building it completely, keeping it active every week and reporting on what it produces.
Why did my profile get suspended?
Common causes are a business name with extra keywords, an address that does not meet Google's rules for your business type, duplicate listings, or a sudden burst of edits. We audit for these before changing anything and handle reinstatement when a profile has already been suspended.
How often should I post on my Google Business Profile?
Weekly is a realistic cadence that keeps the profile visibly active without making work for the sake of it. Posts rotate out of the main view, so consistency matters more than volume. We write them to the seasonal question a buyer is asking that month.
Does responding to reviews help rankings?
Google's own guidance on local ranking recommends responding to reviews, and the responses are plainly visible to the next buyer reading them. Either reason is enough. We answer every review within a business day in your voice, and escalate the ones that need you.
Can you manage profiles for multiple locations?
Yes. Each location gets its own category setup, service list, photos and posts, managed from one account so the brand stays consistent while each profile reflects its own area and team.
What is the difference between this and Local SEO?
This service covers the profile itself. Local SEO adds the website side: city and service pages, citations, local schema and links that support the profile. If your website is solid and the profile is the gap, start here. If you need to win across a whole service area, Local SEO is the fuller program.
